Gold and Jewels for the Holidays

The best thing about dressing for the holidays is the ability to break out everything that's luxurious and decadent in your wardrobe! Even if you don't have expensive jewelry in precious metals with gems, you can still reflect decadence in your wardrobe though pops of gold or bejeweled embellishments.  One of my favorite recent purchases that embodies this idea is this jeweled button cardigan from Boden. The buttons are clusters of colorful jewels that create a luxurious feeling for the holidays or really anytime of the year! This cardigan is one of those pieces that I liked so much that I decided to splurge and buy it in two colors! In the upcoming weeks I will also be showcasing how I styled the pink version of this cardigan on my blog. Again, it was a little bit of a splurge but still cheaper than buying jewelry!

Due to the myraid of colors found in the jeweled buttons and the fact that it's essentially a black cardigan, this sweater goes with just about everything, so there are endless ways to style it. Like I said, because the holidays are rapidly approaching, I decided to go all out and pair my bejeweled sweater with a glittering gold pleated skirt. It would make for the perfect holiday party outfit even though not many of those will be going on this year. I decided to don this over the top look to check out the Christmas Tree at the historic Pasadena Playhouse. Much like the holiday parties this year, the plays and theatrical performances at the theater are on pause until next year but I'm glad that they still went all out for the decorations. So, whether it's a historic theater or your wardrobe, just because things are shutting down for the holidays doesn't mean you can't enjoy a little indulgence during this festive season!
