Color on a Cloudy Day

We have had a somewhat cold and gloomy May this year here in Los Angeles. I actually don't mind the overcast weather, as I am just relieved that it's not excessively hot. I think that it is funny that when it comes to one's wardrobe, the expectation seems to be that your choice of color palette should match the color of the sky. Grey skies equate to dark and drab clothing whereas bright and sunny days signify breaking out all of the colors of the rainbow. Well, I am definitely one for dressing colorfully no matter what the weather as you can see by my heart print flare skirt. The one good thing about wearing such a bold and colorful skirt against the backdrop of a drab and dreary day is that it really stands out. In fact, I received several compliments on the skirt all within the course of a single hour!

  1. We've had a lot of rainy days this month too. It depends on my mood but I usually like to dress more cheerfully and colorfully on rainy days just to balance out the weather. I love the colors and print of that skirt--perfect to brighten up a gloomy day!

  2. That's why you're style is so much fun, because you're all about the color! For me, it's sheer laziness, I'm no good at color and pattern mixing so it's easier to stick with a neutral palette but you know how much I admire your skills, you always look fabulous! XO -Kim
