Stepping Out for Spring

The beginning of spring came in with a roar last Saturday and although I was looking forward to breaking out my pastels, floral prints, and other cheery attire for the occasion, I was stuck in bed with the flu. It took me a week to get over the icky, zombie-like feeling that comes with being sick. However, now that I am better, I sort of feel like a bear emerging from hibernation, renewed with vigor and energy! I am definitely ready to get out there and start spring with a spring in my step!

As my first foray into spring dressing for the season, I am donning an eyelet top and citrus colored pencil skirt. I am also excited about finally getting a little more use out of these colorful sling-backs that I bought last year from J. Crew.  A little color in my wardrobe helps to elevate my mood and invigorate me. Perhaps it's that, or the thought that spring break is just a week away.  It's probably all a combination of feeling better, the bright colors, and, of course, vacation!

    WOW, how stunning are you in this outfit? I have worn this combination of bright colors also, a couple of years ago. I paired a lavender pencil skirt with a short-sleeve yellow blazer and an aqua tank top. I remember it vividly because it has been one of my most favorite outfits. Those plaid flats are DIVINE!
