Oranges and Grapes

When you can't make it to Napa, Paso Robles or even Temecula for that authentic wine tasting experience,  you can always take a sojourn to the Galleano Winery in Mira Loma, California in the Cucamonga Valley. For most Angelenos, the winery is not too far and gives you a little taste of the vineyard without all of the traveling. My husband and I actually joined their wine club this year and we went to pick up our selection of wines and do a little tasting.

Not only does Galleano Winery offer a nice selection of affordable wines, most notably their Zinfandel's, it also has a charming ambiance. The winery has a rustic down on the farm feel to it and I tried to capture that in some of the pictures below. The thing that really sets this place apart is the herd of guinea pigs that they keep on the premises. Each year the number of piggies seems to dwindle, but I still love to look at them and listen to their crazy squeaks.

Since I didn't have a shirt with grapes on it, I thought oranges would do. As you will see from the last picture this matched my husband's big orange Dodge Challenger. In fact one women told me, as I was getting out of the car, "you match the car."

    1. Thanks! I love guinea pigs too. I wouldn't mind getting a pet one, but I don't think William would like it.
