Well, apparently a bunch of other people also couldn't resist this skirt, because when I went to purchase it online it was on back order in my size. I thought I would wait a little bit to buy it, as most back ordered items are available for quite some time. When I checked back the next day it was sold out. So here's what I did: I called J. Crew and had them locate it in a store which is something that they'll do for crazy people such as myself. In 48 hours they let you know if their search was successful or pointless. Luckily they found this in Maryland and shortly there after it was at my doorstep.
I liked the idea of pairing this skirt with the J. Crew Punk floral shirt which is an idea I copied from other bloggers and store mannequins. All in all, this skirt was definitely worth all of the stalking, because it will get quite a bit of use this Spring/Summer and pretty much goes with anything.
i love this skirt Katie! like you i had to talk myself out of it. pencil skirts. yup. stripes? check. i may fold. maybe. did you size the same as with your other j. crew pencil skirts? argh! you make it look too darned cute! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks phiphi. I am typically btw a 0 and 2 in the no. 2 pencil skirt. I selected 2 in this style because other reviews said it had no stretch. I think that was probably the correct choice, although it's a little loose in some places. I would say go for your regular size.
Deletethanks K! it popped back up online today so i took a gamble with the 0. fingers crossed! xo
DeleteI hope it fits phiphi! I can't wait to see how you wear it.
Deletei love the look you have going on here! and the length on this skirt is perfect! i don't blame you for hunting it down. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am always on the hunt for more stripes!
DeleteLove the pattern mixing here and I for one can't get enough of stripes, so I'm your fellow stripe stalker? ;) Hey, it's a classic anyway!
ReplyDeleteThanks fellow stripe stalker! I agree, you can't go wrong with stripes as they are a classic.
