Love Letters

Whatever happened to love letters? Or just writing letters in general? My husband and I had a long distance relationship for a while, and during that time we wrote each other often which was old-fashioned and romantic. Lately I haven't written much at all, to him or anyone. Doing some much needed spring cleaning made me realize that I have a stock pile of note cards and stationary in my possession. I really need to get in the habit of writing more often, if for nothing else but to use up some of my cardstock.

Below you will find my love letter inspired outfit. The Jardin skirt from J. Crew in Heartthrob is no longer available, but you can find a similar version with the same print just a tad shorter at the factory outlet here. The necklace is what truly inspired this post, it is from Kate Spade and was an Ebay find. You will see that it is a golden envelope, I think it was supposed to come with a letter, but I guess I can supply my own.

This post inspired me to dig up some of my own stationery which is plentiful and not used enough. Below I've featured some of my favorites from the collection. Most of it is a year or older, and therefore no longer available, but I tried to find similar versions in case you see something which strikes your fancy.

Christian Lacroix Stationery which combines fashion and art in a very odd, eccentric way which I rather like (Similar here and here )

Rifle Paper Co. (Originally purchased at Anthropologie) and also found here. These are really adorable and I just went to their website and realized they also have a whole bunch more of this type of quirky, kitschy cute stationery that I want to add to my collection!

These are from the classic stationery company, Crane & Co. It is my and my husband's preferred choice when it comes to something to write on. This is a cute print which reminds me of what feels like to walk William! These aren't available anymore, but you can check out the other selections from Crane here.

Above are some of my husband's fountain pens, some of which he's even used to write me with. The ones on the left are Parker Duofold Centennials in assorted patterns and colors. The third from the right is an Omas Arte Italiana Paragon and was my wedding gift to my husband. It's his favorite pen.

  2. I love collecting stationary but have retired from doing so, these days. I still like to look at them though. I've fully embraced the digital age for the most part although I do still send out postcards on occasion. :)

    1. I mostly send emails too, but it's always fun to get a letter (or give one) instead. I feel like the older members of my family really appreciate it too, as they haven't embraced the digital age at all!
