Deco Mustard Rorschach Statement

The above title is pretty much an amalgamation of a bunch of random words which come to mind while looking at today's outfit. Here's my reasoning for this bizarre collage of words. First the Anthropologie Blotted Cord skirt looks like the dribbled ink of a Rorschach test. My sweater is obviously the color of mustard, which was just the perfect hue to match my deco inspired statement necklace.

Lately I have been getting my feet wet, so to speak, into the trend of "statement necklaces." I am honestly not sure where I stand on them. Are they gaudy? Are they cool? Do they pull a look together? You know, the big important questions in life. Thus far I have purchased a few more subtle pieces which are relatively understated and pale in comparison to some of the other behemoth necklaces and bangles on the market. The mustard necklace featured today on my blog is from J. Crew and I actually bought it a few years ago, due to my interest in the deco aesthetic of the piece.

Perhaps statement necklaces are like Rorschach ink blot tests, in so far as everyone sees something different!
